We had no idea what to get Hannah when her child was born. Hannah was our teacher of Spanish, but in fact we were friends. We often went to the pub or cinema together after classes and we had visited her several times. Her child was born a bit too early, so we were unprepared. We started looking for something quickly, but could not decide what to choose. We finally met at a large shopping centre in town. There were some interesting places at the centre: a bookstore for kids, a shop selling baby clothes, baby bedding and other accessories, and a large mall. We entered the bookstore first. There we found a couple of books made of soft cloth, designed for kids aged 0 to 3 months. Then we visited the other shop with accessories for newborn babies and toddlers. There was so much to choose from that we spent nearly an hour walking along the rows full of colourful toys, games, clothes, blankets, strollers and cribs. Then each of us said what he or she liked best. I suggested buying a pair of onesies and two of my friends spotted a nice blanket, but finally our freind Claire persuaded everyone to buy a beautiful set of baby bedding. Hannah liked our gift very much and she later said that her baby daughter loved the colourful patterns and the soft fabric.
